Family Support Officer


Salary: £19,621
Hours: 30 hours/week

Your role as a Family Support Worker will be to work within the Community and Outreach Team to identify and address support needs of individual families who are escaping domestic abuse, with a specific emphasis on providing practical and emotional support.


You will have a good understanding of the risks and support needs of families experiencing domestic abuse, and an ability to make service intervention decisions.


You will be someone who can provide high level specialist support to service users, ensuring that service standards are excellent. You will model high quality practice in your work, ensuring that service user involvement and person centred approaches are embedded in the support that you give. You will facilitate and develop our coffee morning provision on a weekly basis.

LIFE Mental Health Resilience Officer


Salary: £9,849.60
Hours: 18 hours

This is a partnership between MIND and Thrive Women’s Aid.


The Mental Health Resilience Officer will work with other Life Project staff to ensure that women survivors of domestic abuse will have ongoing support following crisis and be enabled to develop their emotional and mental health resilience through a range of services in the NPT area.


You will be responsible for facilitating groups and working on the engagement of women to the project encouraging participation and volunteering, as well as supporting women to take a leading role in the project development. The post will run the coffee mornings, volunteer session and activities with support from the Project Manager and will also undertake delivery of the CBT Reclaim Your Life programme, the Recovery Tool Kit and Peer Mentoring Training for which you will be required to be trained up in if you do not already hold the qualification.

Inclusion Officer (The EDGE Project) x 2


Salary: £19,621
Hours: 25 hours

Funded by Comic Relief your role as an Inclusion Officer will be to work within The EDGE Project to identify and address the support needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse.


You will work on a one-to-one and group basis providing emotional support and assistance in accessing services within the local community. Specific focus will be made on supporting women who are from the Roma and Gypsy Traveller community, are Older or are Disabled. You will have a good understanding of the risks and support needs of families experiencing domestic abuse, and an ability to make service intervention decisions where necessary.


You will work alongside professionals and local organisations to build relationships and networks by engaging and educating them about domestic abuse and the additional barriers that Older, Roma and Gypsy Travellers and Disabled women face when accessing their services.
