LIFE Project (Liberty, Independence, Freedom and Empowerment)

The LIFE Project is self-help programme to support individuals who are impacted by domestic abuse they have experienced in the past. The project aims to improve mental health, resilience, self-confidence, skills and independence.

A range of weekly sessions are on offer, designed and chosen by individuals who access them, including:

  • Self-care coffee morning
  • Walk and talk
  • Yoga and mindfulness
  • Resilience and Empowerment sessions
  • reative sessions

 

LIFE also offers formal interventions delivered by qualified and trained professionals including; Recovery Tool Kit, Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ‘Reclaim your Life’ courses.

The LIFE Project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and is delivered in partnership Neath Port Talbot Mind.

We offer translation services for individuals whose preferred language is not English.

The part I found most beneficial was when the counsellor explained to me the reasons why I am the way I am and why I act as I do, it is all part of trauma.
This course has been a life line. It has helped me feel supported, less isolated and empowered through one of the most frightening, traumatic experiences of my life.
